Come April Fool's Day, AEC Magnetics turns 57 years old. We received an early present with this telephone call, a compliment we'd like to share with you. "Your experience saved me money," a customer said. He had spent the better part of an afternoon looking for a magnet that might work for his special application. He had also spent the better part of the previous day, and a lot of the previous week, researching magnets, how they behave, and as he put it, "learning graduate-level magnet engineering."
The man's journey through the internet led him to frustrating dead-ends until he called AEC. "I went to a bunch of sites online and either had to order something I wasn't sure about, kind of like trial and error, and that was time consuming and I worried about the expense, returning magnets and so forth," he said. "And calling was a waste of time in many instances because I would get a salesman who would either 'need to find out the answer' for me, or read me the information right off of the website. Or I would get a phone-answerer."
The word "experience" on the AEC website caught this customer's eye and he and called. "Man, I could have saved a lot of time if I would have called AEC first from the get-go. Bill Klaus gave me the answers I had been looking for in one short phone conversation. He explained everything in an understandable way that made sense, answered all of my questions and seemed to really like talking to me about magnets."
Turned out, magnets were not a good option for this particular application, but Bill's honesty, respectfulness and help impressed the customer, who said he will make AEC his first stop for magnetic know-how, service and sales. When he heard AEC's 57th birthday is April Fool's Day, he said, "There's no fooling in this--experience counts!"
